Lazy’s Hybrid Streak Team Guide

Introduction

This is to be my 4th consecutive guide and my 2nd dealing directly with teams. Now when it comes to reading characters there is not much per say experience required to make an insightful observation. Even with analyzing teams and their strategies and weaknesses one doesn’t need much of a history to prove their credibility on the subject. I will now attempt to write a guide that surpasses those putting my own credibility to the test as well as my and your ingenuity when it comes to creation, I will outline the process of forming a “streak team” of the hybrid styling here but I will only give examples of a few hybrid streak teams, I will give you the ability to make a streak team…but I won’t just give you the streak team outright…mostly at least, I’ll probably end up giving you a few so enjoy those but don’t get too lazy to make your own.

What is a hybrid team?

Oddly enough I’ve had many people confused on this matter, some think it’s a team that only uses minimal chakra moves, and some think it’s a team with no clash. Rather neither of these are bad guesses, but my own definition of a hybrid team is different, and I’d like to believe more accurate in the n-a population. A hybrid team is a team that cannot be classified such as an “AoE Team” or a “Spike Team” or even a “Drain Team.” Most streak teams tend to be of the Hybrid nature, though there are a fair amount that are not and are pure AoE, pure Drain or pure Spike, yet most of these are classified as “noob teams” due to their simple nature and predictability.

New terms I (Lazy) will be using in this guide:

Mist: a classification of a move that has a defensive nature but rather then forming a solid defense it hinders the opponent in a non damage related way, and example of such would be Zabuza’s mist or even Itachi’s Mangekyou Sharingan. Also, includes the counters that apply to specific types of moves such as Asuma’s protection.
Fortress: another classification of a move that has a defensive nature but rather then forming a hindering defense it forms a physical barrier that can be bypassed through specific types of moves such as affliction or skills that ignore invulnerability. An example of a fortress would be Jiroubou’s earth wall or Temari’s dust wall.
Chakra Stingy: a classification of chakra usage referring to a character that uses 1 chakra for the majority of their moves possibly including 1 move of 2 chakra (IE: Shizune/Chiyo).

What are the advantages of a hybrid team?

A hybrid team has several advantages over a “pure team” in my mind, one of which is greater variety. If you aren’t restricted to a specific type of character you can have so many more teams, but don’t think I’m knocking on the pure teams, many teams that can be considered hybrid are also close enough to fall into the “pure” category such as the one I have lost to many times used and created by FirePrincess consisting of 4-Tailed Naruto, Shigure and Jiraiya. So one advantage is variety, another is “unpredictability” though this is the term I use only because there is not a better suited one. The team is not truly “unpredictable” but rather is not prone to a pattern that is quite so obvious as a team such as Tenten, Haku, Shikamaru. These are only two of the many advantages of a hybrid team, if I were to go on I would only bore you so now to the next step.

What type of player are you?

While many people discount your personalities effect on how a team works for you I find it to be a HUGE factor in how you’ll react to situations. Your temperament can decide a game if you’re say facing a perma-stun team, if you’re patient you could well end up winning if they get a chakra screw, but if you get flustered early on you could make a mistake and “jump the gun” when the situation comes so I will give you the following things to ask yourself before you get started making your hybrid streak team.

What characters do you find yourself to be best with, after you’ve made a list of 4 or 5 pick apart their natures and find the most reoccurring move type such as AoE, Affliction, Single Stun, etc…
In the past what teams have you used to streak with, what characters have you found in those teams you just remembered were the “center” of the team or that you used the most?
How much do you believe in yourself and how willing are you to keep trying even if things become difficult?

Have you answered the questions? If not go back up and answer them, if so then make sure you clearly remember your answers and find the 2 characters that pop up the most in the first two questions and make a mental note or a physical note of them, for me they would be Kakashi and Kisame Body Double. Being that my 2 recurring characters are such I will now break them down.

Kakashi
Spike
Instant Kill w/ Prep
Multiple Chakra Use (3)
Single Stun
Counter

Kisame Body Double
DoT
Mist
Affliction
Single Stun
Multiple Chakra Use (2)

What Now?

Now that you’ve analyzed two characters you must determine whether or not they can work together in a team as characters you’re familiar with you’re more likely to work well with under pressure so decide, can they work together. Kakashi and Kisame BD I have determined cannot work well together due to the following, Kakashi relies on Ninjutsu chakra for 1/2 of his moves and Kisame BD relies on them for 1/2 of his as well.. Due to this they will not consistently work well together and I will cut one of them out, I have decided to cut out Kisame Body Double this time due to the fact that he has less to his name then Kakashi. Now I must go back a step and find another character that I’ve used often, in this instance I find Zabuza’s name to appear quite often so I will now place him with Kakashi and see how that works.

Kakashi
Spike
Instant Kill w/ Prep
Single Stun
Counter
Mist

Zabuza
Invul Ignore
AoE Stun
Spike
Mist

How About Now???

Now that you hopefully have two characters who can work together to an extent the time has come to pick a third character, I will suggest one of the following characters; Chiyo, Shizune, Oboro, Kabuto, Zaku or Iruka. It doesn’t have to be one of the earlier mentions characters, I’ve just found them to be some of the best supporting characters, in my own opinion there is nothing solid I can give you to back that statement so don’t confront me on it as I can only quote my own successes.

Now obviously when picking your final character, rarely if ever can you simply toss a third in there, using my characters above and my other 2 I cannot simply toss Kabuto into Zabuza and Kakashi as that will likely ruin whatever possibility there is soooo… Once again you must analyze, find either one of the characters above that I listed to fill a team or one of your own that generally has supporting skills to defend/boost your own characters such as Asuma who makes a very good addition to most Gen and Blood based AoE teams, but back to the subject, go over your characters finding out which chakra’s are OUT OF THE QUESTION for use, in my example above the ones that cannot be used even slightly by the addition are Tai and Nin. Blood and Gen are “usable” but seeing as Zabuza’s mist is the defense basis of this team using a lot of gen would be…not wise so rule out pure gen characters like Kurenai and Oboro now you’re left from my list with Shizune, Chiyo and Zaku.

Well Zaku’s use is really to defend his team mates within my teams and there’s enough defense as is so really, he’s out which leaves me 2 of the 4 pure random characters (the other of them being 4-Tailed Naruto and Kankuro) which leaves me to decide whether I would prefer a stun based team or having the ability to heal some of my team, knowing how large a target for the opponent Kakashi is I would obviously pick Shizune leaving me my “hybrid streak team” of Kakashi, Zabuza, Shizune.

“I Already Know How To Do That”

If that’s your blanket statement for this guide so far then…odds are… you won’t learn many new things throughout this guide, but humor me and stick around any way, alright?

Now, if you already knew how to do the stuff above, or employed a different methodology to getting to basically the same result I won’t “knock it”. Instead I congratulate you. Now onto the next steps though…analyzing the team before you put it into actual testing. Now I will take the team I formed, Kakashi Zabuza Shizune, and you will take the one you’ve formed and do the same thing with it.

Step One
1st character with 2nd character teamwork analyzation.
Step Two
2nd character with 3rd character teamwork analyzation.
Step Three
3rd character with 1st character teamwork analyzation.

Those are the first three steps I will now demonstrate them below.

Kakashi and Zabuza
Chakra Clash (nin and tai)
Spike (Zabuza’s is conditional)
Single/AoE stun for same cost (means flexibility on the battle field)
Defensive Skills (protection[reflection/invul to specific)

Zabuza and Shizune
No Supporting Skills
5 Chakra Kill (conditional use of 2 chakra prior)

Shizune and Kakashi
Major Target Sharing (possibly confuses the opponent as to which to target first)
5 Chakra Kill (Raikiri + Poison + Needles (2)

That is my analyzation of the team…honestly it’s not horrible in terms of teamwork but it’s not spectacular either as only two of the combinations work effectively together, both of which containing Kakashi so say the opponent eliminates Kakashi you now only have one real set to “follow” which isn’t a promising one at that.
So this is a team I’d be comfortable using in per say a ladder match if I was not of the mentality to streak at the moment as often it would work quite well, but if my goal was to streak, this would not be where I turned to team wise.

  1. That would be useful for people who play this kind of rpg game. :3
